Gomphus is the boss of Chapter 1 in SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.

Story

At the end of Chapter 1, Gomphus appears suddenly, enraged that Armilly and Copernica would dare procure the Peppermint Puffer, and attacks them, claiming he "will teach [them] not to plunder nature!"

After his defeat, he does not reappear for the rest of the game.

Battle

Gomphus has a simple punch attack, as well as the Poison spell, which poisons a single party member. (This will be replaced by the Corruption spell in Legend Remix difficulty, which poisons the entire party.)

It will start the battle alone, but upon filling its SP Gauge, it will play Call Family, which will summon two Shroomlings, which have low health, one meager attack card, and are easily dispatched.
