Below is a list of achievements featured in SteamWorld Dig. Achievements are available on all platforms unless noted. There are 24 total achievements in the Steam version, and 14 trophies in the PlayStation version. Achievements excluded from the PlayStation release are noted with an asterisk.

Story achievements

The following achievements are guaranteed to be acquired when the player finishes the game.

Two Kinds of People Unlocked upon finishing the game having collected at least 20,000 gold in total Bronze
Shine On, You Crazy Round Thing Unlocked upon finishing the game having collected at least 150 Orbs in total Bronze
Quicker Than a Tumbleweed Unlocked upon beating the game within two hours and thirty minutes of game time Bronze
Just Like Real Life Unlocked upon beating the game without Rusty having died. Bronze
Master Prospector Unlocked upon completing the game within two hours and thirty minutes, having collected 20,000 gold and 150 orbs, all without dying once Gold

Trivia

  • Some of the achievements in SteamWorld Dig are named in reference to works in the Western genre:
    • The achievements titled "The Good," "The Bad," and "The Ugly" are named after the Sergio Leone film of the same name.
    • The achievement "Two Kinds of People" is another reference to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, referring to the famous line: "You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig."
  • "Shine on, You Crazy Round Thing" is a reference to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a song by London band Pink Floyd.
  • "Dig Dug Skills" is a reference to the video game Dig Dug, from which SteamWorld Dig borrows the falling rock mechanic.
  • "Half Life 8 Confirmed" is a reference to the infamous "Half-Life 3 confirmed" meme, referring to the long wait between installments in Valve Software's Half-Life series of games. The phrase "half life" is also a physics term referring to radioactive decay, a reference to the Uranium required to receive the achievement.
  • "99 Problems and a Box Ain't One" is a reference to the songs 99 Problems by Jay-Z as well as 99 Problems by Ice-T, both featuring the line "I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one".
