Glossary

The Glossary denotes common words and phrases used within the SteamWorld series. This includes objects, creatures, and locations. For a list of characters, visit the characters category page.

C

• Cowbots: A fraction that mostly consists of Steambots.

D

• Dieselbot: A diesel-driven robot.

E

• Earth: A collapsed planet and the original home of most known species of the SteamWorld.
• El Machino: A big mining town that existed on Earth before the planet collapsed.

G

• Gran Gully: A mining town that was founded by Jack Clutchsprocket on Earth, shortly before the planet collapsed.

M

• Mecha-Trilobite: A mechanized subspecies of Trilobites that had been altered by the influence of Vectron.

R

• Royalists: A fraction of Dieselbots. Their last known leader was The Red Queen.

S

• Scrappers: A fraction that mostly consists of reanimated steam-driven robots. Their leader was Chop Sue.
• Steambot: A steam-driven robot.
• Steambot Tower: A very basic, stationary steam-driven robot. Created by humans some time before their extinction.
• SteamWorld: The name of the universe in which the SteamWorld games take place.

T

• Trilobite: An organic creature that lived in the underground of planet Earth.
• Tumbleton: A small mining town that existed on Earth before the planet collapsed.

V

• Vectron: A artificial hive-mind that seeks to control everyone and everything. It's current status is unknown, but presumably destroyed. Vectron was also the name of an location deep under the surface of planet Earth.
• Vectron Sprite: A blue spirit-like species which started to appear in the ruins of Vectron after it collided.
• Voltbot: A robot powered by electricity, mostly controlled by vectron. There was also an individual Voltbot of the same name, which served as a main unit but had been destroyed by Rusty.
